- For vet-referred behaviour Clients, fees will be confirmed by email prior to the initial consultation. A £50 non-refundable deposit will be payable at the time of booking. The remaining balance will be required in full on the day of the consultation by bank transfer or cash.
- We encourage Clients to understand their pet insurance policies where applicable, and to discuss eligibility with their providers prior to confirming a consultation with us. We do not accept pre-authorised direct insurance claims; fees can be claimed back from insurance companies by the Client after paying our fees in full.
- We are not able to offer refunds on any service unless there are extenuating circumstances.
- If the Client needs to reschedule or cancel a consultation, we ask for five days’ notice else the deposit will be forfeited. The consultation must be re-booked within a three-month period for the deposit to still be valid.
- Please be aware that for changes to be made to your dog’s behaviour, it is essential that all advice in the behaviour modification programme is carried out. Unfortunately, there are no guarantees to behaviour modification.
- If we are concerned about pain/discomfort being a differential to your dog’s behaviour, then further investigation may need to be carried out by your veterinary surgeon or appropriate specialist. If this isn’t followed through with then the Client understands that progress with their dog’s behaviour therapy may be limited.
- We will do our best to take a holistic approach to your dog’s behaviour therapy and cover as many presenting behaviour problems as possible in the time allocated. However, these problems must be disclosed at the time of booking as that what your consultation quote covers.
- By engaging the services of Sarah Hickmott, trading as Pet Necessities Training & Behaviour, the Client agrees that all information provided regarding their animal’s behaviour, history, and any relevant circumstances is truthful, accurate, and complete to the best of their knowledge.
- The Client acknowledges that withholding, misrepresenting, or failing to disclose pertinent details, such as previous aggression, medical conditions, or behavioural concerns, may pose a significant risk to the safety of the practitioner, the Client, the animal, and others.
- Under the Animal Welfare Act 2006, all animal owners and keepers have a legal duty of care to ensure the welfare of their animals and to prevent harm to others. In the case of dogs, the Dangerous Dogs Act 1991 and related legislation impose additional responsibilities to prevent a dog from being dangerously out of control. Failure to provide full and honest disclosure may result in the immediate termination of services without refund, and Sarah Hickmott, trading as Pet Necessities Training & Behaviour shall not be held liable for any consequences arising from such omissions. The Client accepts full responsibility for any legal repercussions that may arise from undisclosed behavioural issues or other relevant factors.
- Clients must be a minimum of 18 years old or be supervised by an adult during consultations.
- If, at any time, we feel that the welfare of the animal is compromised, we will stop the exercise being conducted and offer alternatives.
- If, at any time, we feel that there is a significant risk to public safety, we will stop the exercise being conducted and offer alternatives.
- We accept no responsibility for loss, injury or accident that occurs to dog, owner or their accompanying friends and family, or for any veterinary bills arising from any incident whilst undertaking our services or from any advice given.
